Abstract
Chronic wounds always represent a challenge, even more so when there are aggravating factors such as taking ste-roids chronically due to an underlying disease. These can atrophy the skin and decrease healing. The patient in the case presents a Shehaam syndrome plus hypothyroidism of more than 30 years of evolution, since which time she has been taking steroids to control the pathologies. The patient suffered a leg trauma, causing an ulcer that did not close with conventional methods. Platelet-rich plasma in gel form was used to help more rapid closure of the ulcer. The objective is to show platelet-rich plasma as a effective, cheap and easily accessible alternative for the healing of difficult ma-nagement wounds.
