Abstract
One of the most important causes of skin lesions is spontaneous trauma, and with them, subcutaneous hematomas. Roviralta technique is postulated as a good therapeutic alternative to the traditional approach. This technique seeks, through the application of topical heparin of low molecular weight, to dissolve the hematoma in a rapid man-ner to avoid complications.
We present the clinical case of a 77-year old patient with various multi-pathologies, including chronic venous in-sufficiency, morbid obesity, type 2 diabetes mellitus and blindness. In order to offer a more adequate treatment, scientific literature can be consulted, founding a strong evidence that supports the use of compressive therapy in the case of chronic venous disease, and studies that defend the usefulness of low molecular weight heparin in the healing process.
The results of this clinical case show the resolution of the hematoma for three days. As a conclusion, the compressive therapy and the Roviralta technique could be applied together to improve the evolution of this type of lesions; however, additional research is still needed to support this idea.
